The new Scodix Ultra 6000 adds to our already amazing equipment lineup, giving us even greater capabilities to add foil, metallics, embossing, and other special finishes to projects.

The new press prints up to 27.8 × 39.4 inches and on paper weights from 135 to 675 gsm/6 to 30-point thick. The Scodix handles paper, synthetic and plastic substrates with ease up to 2 mm thick, which allows us to perform a wider range of premium jobs for customers than ever before.

​Create collateral materials that grab attention.

​Carlson Print Group’s own Corporate Presentation Folder received an Award of Recognition last year. The 9 x 12 inch two-pocket folder was designed to hold collateral materials and showcase Carlson’s capabilities and creativity with a plastic substrate. Printed using Carlson’s Colour Foil, two opaque whites, 4-color process and a spot gloss coating, the front panel of the folder transitions from a solid color at the top to clear at the bottom. This riveting effect allows the collateral materials inside to show through the front cover. 

Integrate plastics with paper for effects that pop.
Printable substrates made from plastics are integrated into a paper piece to add shine, pop, color, surprise and a sensory touch experience that you can’t get any other way.

​Our award-winning DVD packaging for “Heartbreak Weather,” is a great example of the effectiveness of integrated mediums. This exciting project included a 20-page booklet. The majority of the pages were printed four-color process (4CP) with an aqueous coating on 80# gloss text. We created a unique and highly customized design by intermingling clear plastic printed with white and PMS inks and UV gloss. The printed clear material interacted with the adjoining pages, indicating the gamut of weather phenomena: sunshine, clouds, raindrops, and lightning.

Plastic can be a sustainable option.
Plastic substrates offers a durable, lightweight, recycled or recyclable product that can be used for a very long time. UV printing and upgraded waste processes have made printing on plastic a cleaner alternative than ever before. Choose plastic for evergreen pieces such as awards and signage, or for collateral that will be in transport often, like trade show materials, tabletop displays, awards, and sales packets.
