Carlson Print Group continues to invest in cutting-edge technology, which includes a Koenig & Bauer Rapida 106 – a game-changing eight-color press with a double coater. The technological benefits not only enhance print quality but also contribute to sustainability and operational efficiency.

Single Pass Efficiency: Unleashing Creative Possibilities
An improved, unique press configuration delivers eight inks along with a double coater with modules
to allow for cold foil and Cast & Cure applications all in one pass. Traditionally, combining various treatments requires the piece to be run multiple times through the press, but we can now streamline the process. Clients can now choose from multiple treatments in one pass, saving valuable time and reducing costs. The ability to explore more flexible options opens up endless creative possibilities for our clients, giving them greater flexibility and control over their printed products.
Performing multiple tasks in a single pass isn't just about efficiency—it's also about sustainability. The process not only saves time but also reduces the carbon footprint by eliminating multiple passes through the press. Carlson Print Group ensures that its operations contribute to a more sustainable printing industry by optimizing resource utilization and minimizing waste.
Eco-Friendly through UV LED Technology

Incorporating UV LED technology is another way Carlson Print Group offers improved sustainability. UV LED curing utilizes less energy, and the inks undergo a polymeric reaction instead of traditional drying methods. UV LED not only accelerates production with faster curing times but also minimizes the release of hydrocarbons into the atmosphere.

Advanced Color Control Systems: Ensuring Consistency
Our equipment includes the latest state-of-the-art color control systems, ensuring superior color consistency from the beginning to the end of each print job. In-line color control measures every sheet and controls every 10th sheet, reducing waste and make ready time. This advanced technology sets a new standard for print precision, ensuring that each customer's project maintains a consistent, high-quality color and appearance, which is always critical for any brand.

Meeting the Need for Speed

Carlson Print Group is now positioned to easily meet growing capacity needs with the capability for a larger standard sheet format of 29" x 41" and speeds of 18,000 sheets/hour. In addition, our press has fully automatic plate changers, which change all plates in approximately four minutes, speeding up set-up times.
With a higher throughput of sheets per hour, we can minimize the time required on press. Customer projects are completed more quickly and provide a competitive cost advantage.

Press operators can wash up to four ink units while the press is running, another feature that dramatically reduces make ready time, enhancing overall operational efficiency. Our organization can now transition seamlessly between different projects, maximizing productivity and meeting customer demands with greater agility.

These streamlined and enhanced production capabilities contribute to overall operational efficiency, making the printing experience smoother and more time-effective for clients.
Versatile Substrate Compatibility: Meeting Diverse Customer Needs
We excel with printing on various substrates, including plastics. This versatility empowers Carlson Print Group to offer customers an extensive range of material options with thicknesses ranging from 4pt to 48pt, utilizing the press's flexible capabilities to their full potential.

LED-UV technology plays a pivotal role in enhancing production efficiency and creativity. By reducing heat introduced into materials, LED-UV lamps allow the use of unique substrates, such as plastics, board, and lightweight stocks, that will provide amazing results and will not be prone to drying or distortion issues.

Additionally, faster curing times with LED-UV eliminate wait times between operations, improving overall lead times. Our press equipment features traditional UV, providing flexibility for specific applications, further enhancing its versatility.
